The Seagle Family 3rd Annual Christmas Letter 2008

This year seems like a blur and has gone by so fast. Our third child, Kevin had something to do with that fact. I am going to try and write this letter while Kevin is a sleep .So it might be very short! But I am sure you guys will enjoy that more. Well here goes……..

January was a whirlwind of doctor and dental appointments to race to and keep. Than there was Clay’s motorcycle accident where he broke his collar bone and nearly gave me a heart attack in the process!! Addison started preschool with some kids from church that Susan and I did at each others homes. It was a great learning experience for me and the kids.

February we celebrated Abigail’s first birthday with a butterfly theme, at grandma Sherrill’s house. She had shots the day before and was not feeling so good. She was so funny with the cake and tried to be proper until we hand fed her and than she got the idea. She is such a little girly lady! Addison started a fun with dance class at Dancers Elite. She absolutely enjoyed herself and her new friends. I had a great trip with Wendy and Ashlynn in Morro Bay .Our hotel was right by the water and the weather was warm. We had a great time hanging out and shopping. The following weekend I was able to go on a girl’s trip with my sisters in Utah. We had so much fun being silly and taking pictures of course! I sure love my hilarious sisters!! I was also on the activities committee in our Pittsburg ward with Brother Daynes. I even did a few massages that month being pregnant.

In March Addison did her first scripture and talk in primary. She was so nervous that she just giggled through the whole thing. I also had my ultra sound that month and found out we were having a boy!! Clay was the most excited by this news. We were geared up to have another girl because we thought we only made girls. Abby was able to take her first step and I was so proud of her. I joined a moms group called The Mount Diablo Moms Club. It was very helpful. I went to playgroups and met some very nice moms. Clay and I celebrated our anniversary in Calistoga with a spa day. We celebrated 7 years together as husband and wife. We also had a great time watching the twins get baptized and seeing old friends. Wow they have grown up so much! Clay re broke his collar bone and did the surgery all over again. His pain level was much more manageable this time. I think its going to stick this time?

April was filled with more prenatal appointments, preschool and play dates at the park. I also worked a couple weeks for a chiropractor in Pleasant Hill doing massage. This was good to get some time out of the house and make some money.

May we moved into our rental house in Brentwood CA. It was a daunting experience to get all the packing done. But with the help of friends and family that helped us move. It worked out great. We started in our new ward Brentwood 2nd and everyone was very friendly. It reminded me of a Utah ward because of all the young families. We went to the beach with ward moms and park dates. We got to know some great families and enjoy the ward very much. Mother’s Day was celebrated with a family BBQ in Discovery Bay at Clay’s cousins. It would have been great to be there. But I was soooo sick I couldn’t attend my own BBQ. But the kids had a great time fishing and reading books with daddy. Clay’s birthday was here at the house with a homemade cake from moi. We sure appreciate all he does for us!!

June was days at the beach, park and library. But most of all we swam a lot in our neighborhood pool. What blessing to have when I was sooo pregnant and trying to keep two girls happy.

July was an eventful month. We spent some time with our friends Rebecah and Dave who come to visit every July. We really enjoy their friendship. We went to Fresno for the 4th and spent it with Clay’s family and also his sister Katy who just moved to Fresno. The kids had such a great time with their cousins and sparklers. I was able to have a scheduled c-section with Kevin and Clay and his mom were there to help keep me calm. Everything went so smooth it was shocking to me. My mom came to visit for two weeks to help me out and I really appreciated her help. Kevin is such a joy and a great cuddlier. He came out 8 lbs 13 ounces and we were so surprised that I could have a baby that big. Thank heaven for c-sections!!! I also turned 35 yuck!

August was much calmer. We got to go to Cayden’s birthday bowling party. It was great entertainment to watch the little kids bowl. I signed up Addison for So Big Preschool co-op in Antioch CA. She loves her teacher Mrs. Mary very much. She is enjoying all the learning and crafts. Me, Kevin and Abigail started going to Music Makers at the church building and Abby is a little reluctant and sits in my lap most of the time. But I really enjoy the one on one time with Abby. We had a visit from Jan and the kids at our house with Jill’s family and us. All the kids went crazy having fun with each other.

September we were able to bless baby Kevin Charles Seagle in our ward. Many family and friends came to share the joy of a new baby. It was such a joy to watch Clay and other family members honor their priesthood ordinances. Clay and I were called to team teach CTR 7 class and we are having a great time with these very smart kids. The following weekend we celebrated Addison’s 4th Princess birthday party. She had a great time being treated like Royalty! I got to visit with Alise, Shelly and I were friends with her in high school. We had such a great time revisiting the past and catching up.

October was full of Halloween costumes and treats. Addison was Ariel princess, Abigail a lady bug and Kevin Superman. We went to the Smith Family Farm and had a hay ride and picked out pumpkins with our friend Erin. Addison had a Halloween parade at preschool and made witch stew. We went trick or treating in our neighborhood with Dorothy and Troy. It rained pretty well, but that didn’t stop us! We went to gramas neighborhood and got even more candy stash and helped grandma pass out candy. Clay and I went to Danae’s Halloween party and feasted on the yummy dinner and treats. It was so fun to play games and get to know each other. Our neighborhood did a garage sale and we made out ok. We had a small neighborhood potluck and Clay BBQ ribs and I made homemade root beer. We have great neighbors and so many kids on the block to play with us.

November is fun and I am enjoying working in Addison’s class and watching her learn. Kevin gets bigger by the minute. We were able to go to Reno for Thanksgiving, at Jaron and Jan’s. It was such a blessing to be with family on a day of gratitude. We all really enjoyed each others company. Thanks Jaron and Jan for hosting such a great event!!! Thanks to Angela and Nicole for helping me with my family pictures!

December is full of preschool festivities, decorating, celebrating and goodies galore. But most importantly, filled with the Spirit of Christ Our Savior. This will be Kevin’s first Christmas and I am looking forward to it.

Addison loves to cook and bake in the kitchen with mommy. Abigail loves to wrestle her sister and try and get everything her way. Kevin loves to eat and be held. Clay loves his job and little Kevin to have some more males in the house. I love hearing what funny things my kids say, and sleep when I can get it!

The lesson I have learned this year is to take joy in the journey and be content. This has been a lesson learned the hard way. Going through trials helps me to remember this over and over again. So I get to learn to be happy in any trial or situation. We love you all and wish you a Merry Christmas and joy filled New Year!!!!

Love, The Seagles (Charice, Clay, Addison, Abigail and Kevin)

P.S I think I wrote a book again! Sorry
